Weekly Update
Hey ya'll!
It's time for my weekly update! This week seems to have flown by. Can you believe it's almost the middle of March? That is just crazy!
So according to my previous post I am going to try to teach myself Spanish. The few phrases that I have held onto since high school are not anything to be proud of and probably sounds like a small child trying to read Shakespeare. Plus, I want to be bilingual... that just sounds interesting and, interesting people make the world a bit less mundane. Maybe from there I will take on French.
I had a critique on Wednesday that was greatly affirming. I love getting feedback from other people in class. They are all very talented individuals and I know that when they make suggestions I can trust that they are being honest and real with me. I feel that I am growing into who I am as a photographer and what makes me want to photograph. I am making work because I love the challenge and motivation it brings to my life rather than completing assignments. My passion is being fed and I am loving it!
We had youth group last night and I am so proud of the kids that we are mentoring. They are such a great group of kids and I can't wait to see them grow in understanding and knowledge.
This weekend doesn't have too much on the agenda. Britt and I are wanting to go see Music and Lyrics. I heard that it has the number one selling album on iTunes. With our recent obsession with American Idol I am sure I will enjoy it. Speaking of American Idol... I am divided between Blake Lewis, Chris Sligh, Lakisha Jones, and Melinda Doolittle. Two out of the four have lisps if you haven't noticed. All GREAT singers though.
I am going to Midland March 16th-19th to shoot. I hope to get some great interior shots and do some work on a memories project I have started. I am looking for some lighting options to take with me without having to rent. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
I hope everyone has had a blessed week!
Much love, Sarah D

I know... I know...
So I have been busy. Good news, I have new work to post! Be checking back... Bad news... my phone of a long time died today. I am very sad. And no one can reach me. It's back to the 90's with no cell phone for me. Maybe Dave will get me a new one!;)What's new? Midland was great! It was good to spend time with friends and family. My friends decided to take me to see this country singer (whom I have never heard of) play at a local venue (of which I had never been to) and it was there that I learned that people do two-step to Metallic, the Rolling Stones, and ACDC. And, it was very awkward. Only in Midland, I guess. Whew! So besides my moment of culture shock, I spent alot of my time photographing and spending time with my family. I almost rear ended one of those orange barrels on the way there. It was really windy and I am assuming that was the reason it was lying in the middle of the highway. So we are moving in May... just to a new apartment. I'm excited... I like change and oddly enough I like packing and unpacking. Our management stinks to put it lightly. They asked why we were moving and I am too nice to tell them what they should have heard so I told them to talk to my husband. He's good at phrasing things. We are going apartment shopping tomorrow. Wish us luck! That's about it for an update. I hope everyone had a great week! Sarah D
